VIDEO: Ship Capsizes and Sinks, 18 People Missing in Japan

At least 18 crew members of a Chinese cargo ship have gone missing near the shores of Japan. This was reported by the Kyodo news agency. The cause of the incident is attributed to a mishap involving the cargo ship.

So far, only four crew members have been successfully rescued, and search operations are ongoing.

The cargo ship issued a distress call while in the vicinity of the uninhabited Danyo Islands (Nagasaki Prefecture). The ship reportedly tilted and began to capsize. Several patrol boats from the coast guard have been dispatched to the scene. The cause of the incident is currently unknown.

Earlier, it was reported that a cargo ship sank near the shores of Taiwan, with missing persons also being reported. Five individuals were rescued by a passing cargo ship. Preliminary data indicated that there were 22 people on board, including citizens of China and Myanmar.
