Ombudsman's Second Resignation Request Submitted to Parliament
Today, on January 24, Human Rights Defender Kristinne Grigoryan reiterated her resignation submitted to the National Assembly the previous day.
According to Article 13, Part 2 of the Constitutional Law on the Human Rights Defender, the Defender's powers shall cease if another resignation request is submitted within one week after the initial submission. The first resignation request was presented to the National Assembly on January 23 of this year.
In accordance with the Constitutional Law on the Human Rights Defender, in case of early termination of the Defender's powers based on resignation, the Defender is required to publish and submit a summary report to the National Assembly regarding the activities conducted during the period between the submission of the annual report and the resignation request.
