Ombudsman Kristine Grigoryan Has Departed Armenia

Ombudsman Kristine Grigoryan has already left Armenia. According to Hraparak.am, the new candidate for the Ombudsman position has previously been a manager for a clothing store chain.

As per the website's information, she bid farewell to the Ombudsman staff before submitting her resignation to the National Assembly, announcing that she has received and accepted a new job offer.

The report adds that the new candidate for the Ombudsman position is Tatevik Stepanian, the Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, who was appointed as deputy minister on May 15, 2020.

“Upon reviewing her biography, an uninformed person might think that she is a highly qualified 40-year-old woman who deserves this high position. However, if you exclude her participation in various courses and her unspecified public activities from her biography, the only working fact that remains is her position as a manager for the 'Modamont' clothing store chain, which she held from 2004 to 2020,” the website wrote.

On January 23, Ombudsman Kristine Grigoryan submitted her resignation to the National Assembly, and today she reaffirmed it. The Ombudsman's powers cease no later than one week after submitting a resignation request if a subsequent resignation request is submitted.
