Who Are the Beneficiaries of the Infertility Overcoming Program?
The state support program for overcoming infertility has been expanded since 2023. The government is providing all citizens of Armenia the opportunity to access reproductive assistance technologies.
According to the Ministry of Health of Armenia, the beneficiaries of the infertility overcoming program are:
- Citizens of Armenia aged 20-35 (inclusive) who have been childless for 2 years or more will receive a complete package, including intrauterine insemination attempts and 2 attempts of in vitro fertilization, of which the second will be covered by the state at 50%.
- Childless women who are citizens of Armenia aged 36-42 (inclusive) will be given the opportunity for intrauterine insemination attempts.
- Women in the age group of 20-35 (inclusive) who are citizens of Armenia, legally registered marrying with one child from border communities, and have secondary infertility for 2 years or more will be provided with the possibility of intrauterine insemination attempts and 1 in vitro fertilization attempt.
A permanent residency requirement of being registered at a residence for at least 1 year has also been established for this group of beneficiaries.
The program is expected to significantly impact infertility statistics as well.
