We Are Ready: Greek Foreign Minister on Erdogan's Statements
Statements from Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias regarding Turkey have garnered significant attention from Turkish media, as reported by ermenihaber.
In a conversation with journalists, the Greek minister addressed the threats coming from Turkey, stating that Athens is not afraid of Ankara's warnings. Dendias said, “The President of Turkey says, ‘We can come suddenly one night.’ This is reminiscent of the song that the Turks sang years ago during the occupation of Cyprus. We hear that and take note. We are ready. But that doesn’t mean we will use the same language; our approach is different.”
In the context of threats from Turkey, he also emphasized that the relations between Greece and the United States, including military cooperation, are at a high level.
Commenting on the fact that the U.S. plans to modernize 40 F-16 fighter jets in Turkey, the Greek foreign minister noted that Greece will already have 83 F-16 Block fighter jets at that time. According to him, Greece will also receive Rafale and F-35 advanced fighter jets.
