VIDEO: Quran Burned in The Hague as Protests Continue

The leader of the German movement "Patriotic Europeans Against the Islamization of the West," Edwin Wagensveld, publicly tore and burned a Quran in The Hague, in front of the Dutch House of Representatives. This was reported by ADR News.

The action was aimed at supporting Danish politician Rasmus Paludan, who faced public backlash after the public burning of the Muslim holy book in front of the Turkish embassy in Stockholm on January 21.

Paludan's actions have drawn negative reactions not only from Turkish officials but also from leaders in Russia, according to Gazeta.ru.

A video circulating online shows Wagensveld tearing the Quran and then jumping onto the torn pages. According to reports, the police did not arrest the man.

It is worth recalling that Danish anti-Islam activist Rasmus Paludan burned the Quran near the Turkish embassy in Stockholm on January 21, an act that sparked protests in Turkey.
