How Much Money Armenians Spent in Georgia

Armenia is among the top ten countries whose citizens spent the most money during their holidays in Georgia. This is reported by the "Business Formula" magazine, citing the National Bank of Georgia.

“Armenian tourists spent $156.1 million in Georgia in 2022,” the reports indicate.

Leading this ranking is Russia, with visitors from Russia accounting for one-quarter of all tourism revenues, totaling $896.5 million for Georgia. Citizens of Turkey occupy the second spot in terms of spending, with $399.3 million. Citizens of the European Union follow in third place, spending $333.2 million. Rounding out the top five are visitors from Ukraine ($282.3 million) and Israel ($270.5 million).

They are followed by visitors from Belarus ($253.4 million) and Saudi Arabia ($159.8 million). Armenian citizens find themselves in eighth place.

In the near future, a “Tourist Card” for foreigners will be introduced in Russia.

In total, revenues from foreign tourists in Georgia amounted to more than $3.517 billion in 2022, surpassing the historic record set in 2019, which stood at $3.3 billion.
