Armenia Competes in International Snowboarding for the First Time
The World University Winter Games are nearing completion in Lake Placid, USA. Our only representative in alpine skiing, leading team member Harutyun Harutyunyan, has already concluded his competitions. On January 18, in the Giant Slalom event, Harutyun ranked 37th among 93 participants from 33 countries.
In the 31st World University Winter Games, Armenia's last representative, snowboarder Norik Tadevosyan, competed on January 21. Notably, this is the first time Armenia has had a participant in international snowboarding competitions.
In the qualification round of the Parallel Giant Slalom, our athlete recorded a time of 39.37 seconds and advanced to the Round of 16. However, he was defeated by American Hunter Bernard and was eliminated from the competition. Overall, Norik Tadevosyan finished in 29th place among 33 participants.
