Juventus Deducted 15 Points
The Italian Football Federation's court has deducted 15 points from Juventus in the current Italian league, according to Sky.
The reason for this penalty is financial fraud committed by the previous management of the Turin club.
Former club president Andrea Agnelli and former CEO Maurizio Arrivabene have been banned for 2 years, while former vice president Pavel Nedved received an 8-month ban, current sporting director Federico Cherubini has been banned for 1.4 years, and former sporting director Fabio Paratici, now in the same position at Tottenham, has been banned for 2.5 years. The bans are applicable throughout Italian football.
Juventus still has the option to appeal these decisions.
Juventus is currently in 10th place with 22 points.
It is worth noting that the previous management of Juventus is accused of violating 4 criminal articles through accounting tricks. During the coronavirus pandemic, Juventus secretly paid the full salaries of its players but announced that the players had temporarily waived part of their salary. Recently, the entire management of the club had resigned.
