How Many Citizens Have Reunited with Their Families Amidst the Closure of the Lachin Corridor? Amatuni Responds

With the mediation of the International Committee of the Red Cross, five citizens remaining in Nagorno-Karabakh or Armenia have reunited with their families due to the closure of the Lachin corridor by Azerbaijan. Zara Amatuni, head of communication and prevention programs at the ICRC's Armenia office, stated this in an interview with Sputnik Armenia.

“Four citizens from Nagorno-Karabakh have reunited with their families. One citizen has moved from Armenia to Nagorno-Karabakh and has also reunited with his family. These operations were made possible through the ICRC’s mediation,” Amatuni said.

She emphasized that for privacy protection reasons, they cannot provide information about these individuals.

Amatuni highlighted that this is the first time transfers of citizens from Armenia to Nagorno-Karabakh and vice versa have been conducted by the ICRC's Armenian office.
