Azerbaijan Aims to Evict the People of Artsakh from Their Historical Homeland: Artsakh's Foreign Ministry
The blockade of Artsakh by Azerbaijan is just one component of the plan to eliminate the Artsakh people, according to a statement from the Artsakh Foreign Ministry. The statement reads:
“We welcome the condemnation of Azerbaijan's ongoing blockade of Artsakh by the European Parliament and the calls for the immediate restoration of the operation of the Lachin corridor, in compliance with the provisions of the trilateral statement of November 9, 2020. We express our gratitude to the MPs who have demonstrated a principled stance on the necessity to prevent Azerbaijan's inhumane policies against Artsakh and its people.
We support sending a fact-finding mission to assess the humanitarian situation in the Lachin corridor, as well as the calls for international organizations to ensure access to Artsakh. We highly appreciate the European Parliament's appeal to the international community for more active participation in the fate of the people of Artsakh.
We reiterate that the blockade of Artsakh is merely one part of Azerbaijan's plan to annihilate the people of Artsakh. By creating unbearable living conditions, Azerbaijan aims to evict the people of Artsakh from their historical homeland. We emphasize the importance of the collective efforts of the international community to implement specific actions aimed at thwarting Azerbaijan's genocidal plans.”
