Video: "There Are Also Respiratory Burns" – Deputy Director of the National Burn Center on Injured Soldiers
In a conversation with journalists, Karine Babayan, the deputy director of the National Burn Center for therapeutic matters and an advisor to the Minister of Health on burn treatment issues, mentioned that three military personnel have been admitted to the Burn and Dermatology National Center. Two are in the intensive care unit, and one is in the burn unit.
Babayan stated that the condition of the patients in the intensive care unit is assessed as severe, with cases of respiratory burns also present.
According to Babayan, patients who have sustained burns to the head naturally have swollen faces. "All types of respiratory burns are life-threatening. When they are in the clinic, these patients are more manageable. Burn disease becomes three times more dangerous on the 3rd or 4th day when body intoxication develops. At that time, we fight more intensively. One must never speak lightly of burns to internal organs. We will be able to speak more clearly about upper and lower respiratory burns on the 3rd or 4th day, after conducting certain examinations and gaining a specific picture," she emphasized.
She informed that all patients are conscious. "The patients who have been bandaged are currently asleep due to deep analgesia. All three can communicate if they are not in drug-induced sleep. We received the patients in the morning, between 7:30 and 8:30 AM. The Minister of Health has not visited, but they are constantly calling and inquiring about the situation," Babayan said.
