The Defense Minister Has Not Yet Visited the Site of the Tragedy
Auroranews.am contacted the Ministry of Defense to find out whether the defense minister has gone to the N military unit located in the area of Azat village, where a tragic fire occurred today claiming the lives of 15 conscript soldiers.
The Ministry of Defense stated: "Not yet, numerous representatives of the Ministry of Defense, senior military officials have visited the scene on the instructions of the defense minister."
It is worth noting that during today’s government meeting, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan addressed the incident and provided details: "Not only gasoline was used, but according to initial information, the minister reported that special burners were distributed for lighting the stoves, so that there would be no need for additional substances. An attempt was made to fill the stove with a 5-liter canister. Naturally, when there is an open flame, not only the stove burned, but also the gasoline; the fire spread to the serviceman who was attempting to light the stove, and then instinctively, that 5-liter canister of gasoline was thrown towards the barracks of the unit. I assume it was not intentional. After that, it is clear what happened."
