Video: Ararat Mirzoyan Hosts Delegation Led by French National Assembly President
On January 14, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan hosted a delegation led by Yaël Braun-Pivet, the President of the French National Assembly. Minister Mirzoyan welcomed the first visit to Armenia at the level of the French National Assembly President, highlighting that it reflects the high level of historical friendship and bilateral privileged relations based on the common values of the Armenian and French peoples.
The meeting addressed issues related to the rich agenda of cooperation between Armenia and France. The close cooperation established at the interparliamentary level was positively noted, particularly emphasizing the activities of friendly groups in the legislative bodies of both countries and cooperation in multilateral platforms.
Both parties touched upon issues related to regional security and stability. They also referred to the increasingly severe humanitarian situation resulting from the blockade of the Lachin corridor, which since December 12, 2022, has been the only lifeline connecting Nagorno-Karabakh with Armenia and the world, and the necessity for resolving this crisis was underscored.
Minister Mirzoyan emphasized that Azerbaijan aims to ethnically cleanse the Armenian population of Nagorno-Karabakh through its ongoing actions. The Armenian Foreign Minister expressed gratitude for France's principled stance at various levels and formats regarding Azerbaijan's aggression against Armenia's sovereign territory and the illegal blockade of the Lachin corridor.
