Pashinyan and Garibashvili Sign Agreement on Visa-Free Travel

Armenia and Georgia share mutual understanding on security, political, and regional significance issues. This was stated by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during the Armenian-Georgian intergovernmental commission meeting held today in Yerevan.

“Since 2019, three meetings of the intergovernmental commission have taken place. This indicates that there is a mutual interest in ensuring the periodicity of this important format aimed at promoting our countries' relations and the effective implementation of the agreements reached within it,” said the Prime Minister.

He expressed confidence that the agreements reached during the meeting will be successfully implemented, providing a new quality and substance to Armenian-Georgian relations.

During the meeting, issues related to further deepening and expanding cooperation between the two countries in various sectors were discussed. In particular, discussions focused on joint projects in trade, energy, infrastructure, industry, tourism, education, and culture.

As a result of the meeting, Nikol Pashinyan and Irakli Garibashvili signed an agreement on “Mutual Visa-Free Travel for Citizens of the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Georgia.” An official record of the intergovernmental commission meeting on economic cooperation was also signed.

It is noteworthy that the Georgian delegation, led by Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili, is in Armenia to participate in the 12th session of the Armenian-Georgian Economic Cooperation Intergovernmental Commission. The Georgian delegation includes Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Levan Davitashvili, Minister of Foreign Affairs Ilia Darchiashvili, Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure Irakli Karseladze, and Chief of Staff to the Government Revaz Javelidze.
