Women in Armenia Activating to Serve in Armed Forces, Says Deputy Minister of Defense

The Deputy Minister of Defense of Armenia, Arman Sargsyan, stated in an interview with reporters that women in Armenia are showing increasing interest in serving in the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia.

According to him, based on this interest, the Ministry of Defense is proposing that women voluntarily engage in military service. “There is a strong initiative among women to serve both in the Ministry of Defense and in the Armed Forces, contributing positively. Currently, this is in the discussion phase, and we will later circulate a project based on voluntary engagement. The goal is to utilize women’s potential,” said the Deputy Minister.

It is noteworthy that earlier, in an interview with Auroranews, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Defense, Aram Torosyan, confirmed that the issue of female citizens of Armenia transitioning to voluntary military service is being discussed within the Ministry.
