VIDEO: 720 Arrested Amid Unrest in Brazil

Law enforcement in Brazil's capital has arrested 720 individuals for participating in Sunday’s unrest. In total, more than 1,500 participants involved in the anti-government protests have been detained.

It has been reported that all operational measures are conducted with the ongoing presence of doctors, lawyers, and human rights defenders. The detainees and those held in custody are provided with three meals a day, water, and, if necessary, medical assistance.

We recall that supporters of former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro, who have been protesting the results of the presidential elections since the end of last year, stormed the Congress building in the capital on January 8, breached the presidential palace (Palácio da Alvorada), and invaded the Supreme Court building. It was only in the evening that the police managed to free the government buildings from the protesters.
