At Least 12 Killed in New Wave of Protests in Peru, Many Injured
At least 12 people have died and 38 others have been injured during anti-government protests in the Peruvian city of Juliaca. This was reported by the health system of the San Román province, of which Juliaca is the administrative center, according to TASS.
The list of deceased individuals, published on the health system's Facebook page, includes 12 people, one of whom is a minor.
On January 6, clashes erupted between protesters and police near the Juliaca airport. The protesters are demanding the resignation of President Dina Boluarte and new elections for the head of state.
