Noel Le Graet Apologizes to Zinedine Zidane
The President of the French Football Federation (FFF), Noel Le Graet, has apologized to former French footballer Zinedine Zidane.
“I want to apologize for my words, which do not reflect either my thoughts or my feelings towards the player that Zidane was, and the coach he has become. I gave an interview that I should not have given, contrasting Didier Deschamps and Zinedine Zidane, pitting two icons of French football against each other. I admit that I made inappropriate remarks, which led to misunderstanding. Zidane knows how much respect I have for him and all French people,” Le Graet's words are quoted by AFP.
Previously, Le Graet had responded harshly to a question regarding Zidane. Supportive statements have been made by Real Madrid and French national team striker Kylian Mbappé.
