‘Epidemiological Filter’ to be Established in Schools and Preschools
The Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of the Republic of Armenia has sent a circular to the regional administrations and the municipality of Yerevan proposing to implement preventive measures in public and preschool educational institutions under their jurisdiction, considering the recent increase in acute respiratory infections and flu, particularly among children aged 0-18.
This information has been provided by the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport.
“To avoid further complications of the epidemiological situation and the spread of the disease, it is proposed as a preventive measure to establish an ‘epidemiological filter’ in schools and preschools, thus excluding the entrance of sick children to these institutions,” the statement reads.
The same directive has been issued to the directors of public educational institutions and private schools operating under the Ministry’s jurisdiction.
Anti-epidemic measures in schools and preschools will be implemented starting January 9. It is worth noting that the winter break for students in grades 3-12 has ended, and starting today, they are attending school, while first and second graders' break will continue until January 22 inclusive.
