270 Children from Artsakh Remaining in Armenia Will Attend School Starting Tomorrow, Says Advisor to Artsakh Minister of Education
Due to the blockade of the Lachin corridor, 270 children from Artsakh who are currently in Armenia will start attending school from tomorrow. This information was provided to Sputnik Armenia by Aida Gyankumyan, an advisor to the Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports of Artsakh, who is currently with the children in Goris.
“We cannot cut the children off from the educational process. Despite the fact that their parents, friends, and teachers are in Artsakh, they understand that it is necessary to receive an education. The children staying in Goris will attend Goris School No. 1 starting tomorrow. There are children who also attend music school, and they will go to the local music school; we have a child who studies at a medical college, and he will also go to the local college,” Gyankumyan said.
According to her, 20 children in Yerevan will also start attending various schools in the city from tomorrow.
Gyankumyan emphasized that she is a psychologist by profession and is doing everything possible to ensure that the children receive appropriate support in this situation, but nevertheless, they miss their schools and want to return to them. At the same time, the children understand that this situation is beyond their control and that they must overcome it together.
