VIDEO: EU Group Has Not Crossed Our Border or Worked with Azerbaijan, Vayots Dzor Governor

European observers will meet with regional governors in January, said Vayots Dzor Governor Ararat Grigoryan in a conversation with reporters after a government meeting.

“The EU observation group has not yet met with the governors of Armenia; the format is still under discussion, and it is expected that a meeting will take place in the coming days,” Grigoryan said.

According to him, there is still no clarity regarding the observation mission, but it is assumed that it will proceed in the same manner as before.

The governor noted that, in his opinion, the previous observation mission had a deterrent effect on Azerbaijan.

Regarding the situation in Jermuk, Grigoryan mentioned that some hotels were fully booked during the New Year period, while others were not. Nevertheless, there are still vacationers.

It should be noted that in an interview with Public Television on December 26, Secretary of the Security Council Armen Grigoryan stated that a new technical mission of European observers is already in Armenia, while the observation group that arrived in October has completed its mission.

The previous EU observer mission arrived in Armenia in October for a two-month period. EU observers have begun monitoring at the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, according to Josep Borrell. On December 19, the EU's High Representative for Foreign Affairs announced that the EU intends to establish a new long-term mission in Armenia following the conclusion of the civilian monitoring group's activities.
