Blinken to Have Phone Conversation with Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan
The U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken will have a phone conversation with the foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan in the coming days. This was announced by State Department spokesperson Ned Price, as per the official page of the department.
“Secretary Blinken regularly speaks with his counterpart leaders in Armenia and Azerbaijan. I expect that in the coming days, he will again have the opportunity to speak by phone with the foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan,” he stated.
At the same time, Price mentioned that cooperation with Armenia and Azerbaijan has been on a bilateral basis. According to him, they have collaborated with international organizations such as the OSCE to promote direct dialogue between Armenia and Azerbaijan and to find solutions to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict or its aftermath.
It should be noted that it was announced today that American diplomat Philip Reeker is leaving the position of senior adviser on Caucasus negotiations at the U.S. State Department. In this regard, Price emphasized that Reeker's departure does not in any way disrupt the United States' position on ensuring a secure, stable, democratic, prosperous, and peaceful future in the South Caucasus.
