Artsakh MPs Appeal to Putin, Biden, and Macron
The Members of Parliament of the Republic of Artsakh, led by Arthur Tovmasyan, have addressed a letter to the leaders of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chair countries: Russian President Vladimir Putin, U.S. President Joe Biden, and French President Emmanuel Macron. They are calling for concrete actions towards the opening of the Lachin Corridor or the operation of Stepanakert Airport.
In the statement by the parliamentarians, it is mentioned: “Today marks the 25th day of the closure of the only road connecting Artsakh to Armenia and the outside world. The Artsakh issue was the only conflict about which nearly all the OSCE Minsk Group co-chair countries had a similar viewpoint. The people of Artsakh, faced with a humanitarian unprecedented disaster, not only need targeted statements but also visibly effective steps in this direction. Patients suffering from serious health issues are deprived of necessary medications and healthcare services, while Artsakh lacks supplies of baby food and essential goods.”
“We call upon the civilized world, particularly the co-chair countries of the Minsk Group, to take concrete actions towards the opening of the corridor or the establishment of an air bridge through the operation of Stepanakert Airport, which would help alleviate the humanitarian crisis currently plaguing Artsakh this winter season,” they concluded.
