Iran is Not Part of the Ukrainian Conflict, Says Iranian Foreign Ministry
The official representative of Iran's Foreign Ministry, Nasser Kanaani, has denied Tehran's support for Russia in the Ukraine war, as reported by РБК-Украина. According to him, defense cooperation between Tehran and Moscow took place before the large-scale invasion on February 24 of the previous year.
The ministry's representative stated that Iran is not part of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, describing the allegations against Tehran as "baseless."
"Iran is not part of the Ukrainian conflict, and the unfounded accusations against Iran will not help resolve the issue. Iran's defense cooperation with other countries is based on common interests and conducted in accordance with international laws and regulations," he stated.
Kanaani also added that Ukrainian authorities should stop "unfounded and false accusations" against Iran, while simultaneously advising them to consider possible solutions to the crisis.
