Shooting in Yerevan: Colonel's Son Hospitalized with Multiple Stab Wounds
Today, December 30, shots were fired in Yerevan. Around 02:15, operational information was received by the Arabkir police department that gunfire had occurred at 38/1 Mamigonian Street.
At the same time, an emergency call was made to the RA police patrol service, reporting that shots had been fired in the specified location and there was an injured citizen. This was reported by Shamshyan.
Police officers and patrols found blood-like traces, a pistol, and two cartridges in the yard of the mentioned building. Several citizens gathered at the scene, who refused to speak on camera, said: "We heard the sirens of the ambulance and patrol cars and saw the patrol officers helping an injured citizen out of a foreign-brand car, quickly bringing him to the ambulance. The medics provided assistance on the spot and took the injured person to the hospital. Then we saw a large number of police and patrol officers entering the yard and blocking off that area with tape."
The police and investigators have determined that 35-year-old Eduard N., a resident of Yerevan, was transferred to Yerevan's number 1 university hospital, where there were more than ten marks on his body from sharp cutting and piercing instruments.
A criminal case has been initiated in the Arabkir investigative department with regard to the incident. Doctors at the hospital informed the police and investigators that the injured person was unable to provide an explanation about the incident, as he is in the intensive care unit.
According to media reports, the injured man's father is former police colonel Vardan Nadyan, who has also served as the head of the Shirak regional police department. Citizens gathered at the scene mentioned that perhaps the son had been targeted due to his father's past, as he allegedly owes large sums of money to many citizens.
