Many Shops in Artsakh Are Running Out of Goods, Some Have Closed: MP
The situation in Artsakh is deteriorating daily, with new problems emerging every day, stressing the nerves of the people. Some groups are seeking to gain political dividends from the current crisis. This was stated by David Galstyan, the leader of the 'Justice' faction in the Artsakh Parliament, in an interview with News.am.
“Many shops are already out of various goods, and some stores have closed. The situation is getting worse day by day,” he said.
When asked about the groups attempting to take advantage of the situation, Galstyan responded: “We saw a group of people in front of the National Assembly the other day, who were directed towards the Parliament, trying to represent to the people that this institution is not functioning. Meanwhile, the Parliament is doing what is within its legal powers. They are diverting people's attention from solving issues towards political forces. We all state, whether during rallies or in our interviews, that we can only overcome this problem through united efforts. However, there are those who disrupt our unity; they seem to be orchestrating actions. It seems these actions are directed by those who want to see Artsakh destroyed. Many among them have honest intentions and are trying to do something, but since the platform they chose was not entirely voluntary, it is problematic.”
Regarding the negotiations aimed at opening the Lachin corridor, David Galstyan mentioned that there are no direct negotiations with the Artsakh side: “The Russian side claims negotiations are ongoing, yet we see that the Armenian leadership, Nikol Pashinyan, declares that despite the closure of the Artsakh road, we are ready to provide Azerbaijanis a route to Nakhichevan. Armenia, as a party to the November 9 document, is not fulfilling its duties as a claimant. Azerbaijan's ultimate goal is to integrate Artsakh into Azerbaijan, to which the Armenian authorities do not object. We have expectations from both Armenia and Russia. In general, Russia responds more adequately to the existing issues than Armenia does,” emphasized the opposition MP.
