Unprecedented Control at the Ministry of Finance
The newspaper Hraparak reports that not only is a massive army working to ensure the physical security of Nikol Pashinyan and his family—costing the budget several times more than under all previous administrations—but various entities are also competing in identifying and neutralizing sources of danger.
A long-time employee of the Ministry of Finance shared that such control has never before been implemented in their department. Firstly, upon entering the ministry, they thoroughly search people, and for reasons unknown, they require visitors to turn on their mobile phones and show their screens to security personnel. Additionally, it is now forbidden to stay in the ministry after working hours. Previously, employees could stay late or enter the building on weekends to work at their desks, but such activities are now prohibited. At least a thousand documents and permissions must be obtained by any employee wishing to justify why they need to come to the workplace on a Saturday.
The main reason for this heightened security is because the Ministry of Finance is adjacent to the building where Nikol Pashinyan works. Further details can be found in today’s issue of the newspaper.
