Defense Ministers of Russia, Syria, and Turkey Meet in Moscow: What Was Discussed

On December 28, trilateral negotiations took place in Moscow between the heads of the defense ministries of Russia, Syria, and Turkey: Sergey Shoigu, Ali Mahmoud Abbas, and Hulusi Akar. This was reported by the press service of the Russian Ministry of Defense.

Simultaneously, a meeting was held between the heads of intelligence agencies from the three countries: Sergey Naryshkin, Director of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service, Hakan Fidan, Head of Turkey's National Intelligence Organization, and Rafik Shahadi, Head of Syria's Military Intelligence.

The Russian Ministry of Defense emphasized the constructive nature of the meetings and stated the necessity of continuing cooperation in this format for the benefit of further stabilizing the situation in Syria.

The Turkish Ministry of Defense's press service reported on its website that the discussions covered the “Syrian crisis, the issue of refugees, and joint efforts against all terrorist organizations in Syria.”
