Çavuşoğlu Blames the U.S.

The U.S. is disrupting the balance of power in the region with its policies towards Greece and Cyprus. This was stated by Turkey's Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, according to Anadolu.

“The massive supply of weapons to Greece is a clear indicator of the disruption of the balance of power. The same can be said about the Greek community of Cyprus, regarding which the U.S. lifted the arms embargo for a year,” he said.

Çavuşoğlu pointed out that in response to Ankara’s inquiry about the reasons for such actions, Washington highlights Turkey’s “collaboration with the U.S. in the area of preventing money laundering concerning the island’s Greek community.”

“Should the response to such cooperation be the authorization to supply weapons? For what purpose and against whom? Against the Turks of Cyprus,” said the head of Turkey's Foreign Ministry.
