Five Individuals Preparing Terrorist Attack Arrested in Turkey, Interior Minister Says
The Turkish Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu has announced that five individuals preparing a terrorist attack have been arrested in Turkey.
During a special operation in Van, five terrorists equipped with explosives were apprehended. They reportedly received instructions to carry out a terrorist act from Iran, Soylu stated at a press conference in Ankara, as reported by RIA Novosti.
It is worth mentioning that on the afternoon of November 13, an explosion occurred on Istiklal Street, a pedestrian area in downtown Istanbul. Six people were killed, and 81 were injured. The country's leadership has classified the incident as a terrorist act. Turkish authorities have stated that the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) and Kurdish People's Protection Units were behind the explosion in Istanbul.
