Defense Ministry Plans New Drills for Reservists
The Ministry of Defense plans to conduct training assemblies for reservists from March 1 to May 12, 2023. The draft decision has been published on the e-draft platform for legal acts and project publications.
It is anticipated that transport vehicles will be involved from agencies with military transport responsibilities, and regulations regarding the conduct of the training assemblies will be established.
“Considering the necessity of having combat-ready units in the armed forces, staffed with highly qualified and well-trained reservists, as well as transport vehicles, it is appropriate to include reservists in training assemblies. This includes engaging in combat duty, while for the provision of training assemblies, transport vehicles will be sourced from agencies with military transport obligations. To this end, military units are carrying out training assemblies for reservists on military skills, retraining, and preparation, gradually filling the ranks with more skilled reservists with necessary military registration specialties,” the draft states.
