Brusov University Rector's Advisor Denies Charges Presented Against Him

The advisor to the rector of the State University after Brusov, Grisha Tamrazyan, denies the charges against him. In a conversation with News.am, Grisha Tamrazyan stated that he will soon make a statement regarding the charges presented to him.

Earlier, the Investigative Committee reported that Gr. T. was charged under the first part of Article 297 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia within the framework of a criminal case initiated against him.

According to the Investigative Committee, on December 9, Gr. T., fully aware that many staff members, students, as well as several employees and other officials from the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports of the Republic of Armenia were present in the administrative building of the university due to the rector elections, and understanding that every event occurring at that time in the administrative building was being covered by journalists and accessible to the wider public, demonstrated disrespect towards society by loudly uttering indecent expressions and insults directed at the Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports, Vahram Dumanyan, disturbing the tranquility of people and disrupting the public event taking place at that moment.

As a preventive measure, 'Prohibition of Absence' and 'Suspension from Office' have been chosen against Grisha Tamrazyan. The decision regarding the 'Suspension from Office' measure has been sent to the rector of the State University after Brusov for execution, and the chief secretary of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports has also been informed about it.

The preliminary investigation is ongoing.
