Philippine authorities reported yesterday that lives are being lost due to flooding caused by heavy rainfall in the country. Search efforts are ongoing for an additional 23 individuals who are considered missing. Firefighters and police personnel are assisting people in evacuating from the affected areas.

For two consecutive days, intense rainfall has forced nearly 45,000 people to seek refuge in evacuation centers, resulting in the cancellation of Christmas celebrations. The local disaster agency has noted that the severe weather has caused significant damage to agriculture, particularly resulting in the death of numerous livestock.
