US Essentially Threatens to Physically Eliminate Putin: Lavrov

Statements from the Pentagon regarding a "decapitation strike" against the Kremlin essentially indicate a threat to physically eliminate the President of Russia. This was announced to TASS by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.

“The furthest they have gone in Washington includes certain ‘anonymous official persons’ from the Pentagon who have effectively threatened to carry out a ‘decapitation strike’ against the Kremlin, which, in essence, is a threat to physically eliminate the leader of the Russian state. If someone truly has such ideas, they need to think very carefully about the possible consequences of that,” said the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

According to him, the West's policy is generally aimed at the total containment of Russia and is fraught with the risk of direct military confrontation between nuclear powers.

Lavrov emphasized that the West continuously engages in “irresponsible speculation that Russia is supposedly about to use nuclear weapons against Ukraine.” The Russian minister reiterated that Moscow once again states that there can be no winner in a nuclear war, “and it must never be unleashed.”
