VIDEO: They Cannot Guarantee Security. What the Russian Peacekeeping Forces Representative Said to Armenians

Five representatives of citizens traveling from Armenia to Artsakh held negotiations with the deputy commander of the Russian peacekeeping forces in Artsakh. The citizen representatives demanded to clear the Lachin corridor of fake environmentalists and guarantee free movement.

One of the initiators of the march, Samvel Movsisyan, stated that the deputy commander of the Russian peacekeeping forces said the situation is tense and they cannot ensure the safety of those traveling from Armenia to Artsakh.

“There might be a quite dangerous situation in the blocked section of the road; everything can go out of control, and you could worsen the current situation more. They are aware and informed us that discussions are currently ongoing at the highest level regarding this specific issue, and we have been advised to wait for that response. According to the deputy commander of the Russian peacekeeping forces, one direct order from that leadership will fully resolve this issue, not by opening the road once and closing it twice. Now, no one needs to go and perform heroics; the real heroes are currently in Artsakh,” noted Samvel Movsisyan.

As for the announcements regarding the opening of the road today, December 26, the deputy commander of the Russian peacekeeping forces stated that they have made no promises, and the news has been circulated by media outlets. A meeting will take place, and a decision will be made there, but no promise has been made that the road will be opened.
