Serial Killer to Sue Netflix Over Bad Series After Release

Infamous fraudster and serial killer Charles Sobhraj, known as the Serpent and the Bikini Killer, is set to sue Netflix, BBC, and the state of Nepal. This was reported by the Daily Mail.

After serving 19 years in a Nepalese prison for double murder, the criminal was released on December 21. On Saturday, December 24, he flew from Kathmandu to Paris.

Lawyer Isabelle Coutan-Peyre, representing Sobhraj, stated that the first thing he intends to do is file a defamation lawsuit against Netflix and the BBC. The 78-year-old's anger was triggered by the mini-series “The Serpent,” which was released on January 1, 2021.

According to Coutan-Peyre, Sobhraj decided to take legal action after watching the film. He was displeased with the quality of the series, claiming that 70 percent of the content displayed on screen was “absolute lies.”

Additionally, the Bikini Killer plans to file a lawsuit against the state of Nepal, where he was arrested in 2003 and sentenced to life imprisonment. “He was unlawfully convicted based on a case fabricated by the Nepalese police with false documents,” said Sobhraj’s representative.
