Kurds to Hold Massive Protests in Paris Again

The Kurdish Democratic Council of France is planning three more demonstrations in Paris on January 4, 7, and 9, in memory of the Kurds who were shot dead on Friday, as well as three activists killed in January 2013. This was reported to RIA Novosti by the organization's press secretary, Berivan Firat.

“Even before the incident on Friday, we had planned to hold a rally on January 4 to commemorate the activists who were killed in 2013. Now we will continue our actions. On January 7, we are organizing a large-scale demonstration at the EU level, and on January 9, a memorial event will be organized by the Paris City Hall,” she said.

Firat noted that the Kurdish community is closely monitoring the investigation and does not believe the suspect in the attack on the Kurds is mentally ill, as the investigation claims. “He came in completely calm and said he came to kill Kurds, telling the police that he hates Kurds; he is not insane,” the spokesperson added.

On Friday, a 69-year-old man opened fire on the street near a Kurdish cultural center in the 10th district of Paris, killing three Kurds. He later attributed his actions to racism and pathological hatred of foreigners.
