We Will Celebrate the Holidays as Always – Zelensky

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has urged his people to show resilience in the face of Russian attacks. “Freedom has a high price, but slavery has an even higher cost,” President Zelensky stated in a speech on Christmas Eve.

Most Ukrainians are Orthodox Christians and celebrate Christmas on January 6. However, the number of people marking the holiday on December 24, in line with the majority of Christians worldwide, is increasing.

“We will celebrate the holidays as we always do. We will smile and be happy as always. The only difference is that we will not wait for a miracle, as we are the ones creating it,” he noted.

Russian missile and drone strikes have left millions of Ukrainians without electricity, heating, and running water. On Saturday, 10 people were reported dead and another 68 injured due to Russian airstrikes in southern Kherson, according to officials.
