After Argentina's victory over France in the championship match, Gökçe entered the field and began asking players for photos with the World Cup trophy. His behavior has sparked outrage among fans and received negative reactions on social media.

In response, FIFA has conducted an investigation and found that unauthorized individuals were granted access to the field after the trophy presentation ceremony.

“Internal measures will be taken,” quotes FIFA from New York Times journalist Tariq Panja.

According to FIFA rules, the trophy can only be held by the winners of the World Cups, heads of state, and the president of FIFA.
