Head of Verin Shorja Comments on Azerbaijani Army Gunfire towards Village

The gunfire from the Azerbaijani Armed Forces towards the Verin Shorja settlement in the Vardenis community of the Gegharkunik region ceased at dawn. This was reported to Aurora News by the administrative head of the settlement, Artyom Yeranosyan.

According to Yeranosyan, the gunfire had been aimed at positions, but the sounds were clearly audible in the village. When asked about the mood in the village, Yeranosyan mentioned that residents have become accustomed to the gunfire, although there is undoubtedly some anxiety.

Earlier, the Ministry of Defense of Armenia reported that around 03:15 on December 23, units of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces opened fire with various caliber firearms targeting the Armenian positions located in the direction of Verin Shorja. “The adversary also used mortars. The Armenian side has not suffered any casualties. As of 08:30 on December 23, the situation at the front line is relatively stable,” the statement read.
