Robert Kocharian Has Health Issues, Fails to Attend Court Hearing

The Yerevan Court of General Jurisdiction has once again postponed the next court hearing in the case of Armenia's second president Robert Kocharian and former Deputy Prime Minister Armen Gevorgyan due to Kocharian's absence.

Defense lawyer Haik Alumyann presented a medical document to the court related to Kocharian's absence. Since it contained medical confidentiality, the lawyer requested Judge Anna Danibekyan to discuss the details of the document and the duration of treatment in a closed session.

After the discussion, Danibekyan scheduled the next court hearing for January 31, at 1:00 PM.

It is worth noting that former President Robert Kocharian and former Deputy Prime Minister Armen Gevorgyan are accused in a single criminal case. Kocharian is accused of receiving a particularly large bribe, while Gevorgyan is charged with money laundering.
