Only salt and sand were spread in the area of the accident in Davtashen: Council member

Following a chain collision, only in the area where the traffic accident occurred, employees of the Yerevan Municipality's "Yerevan Waste Management and Sanitation" foundation spread salt and sand. This was stated by Council member Markus Harutyunyan during the city council meeting on December 20.

He expressed the opinion that this was done to create the impression that work is being carried out since there is no salt and sand in the rest of Davtashen Bridge. Harutyunyan called for preventive measures to be taken at night to prevent such issues in the morning. "Such a problem would never have occurred. We have been saying since summer that the employees of that department are not knowledgeable," he noted.

It is noteworthy that on the morning of December 20, a major chain collision occurred on the Davtashen bridge in Yerevan, involving 27 vehicles and resulting in injuries to two people.
