Car Pile-Up in Yerevan: Davtashen Bridge Closed in Both Directions
Earlier today, it was reported that at 07:22 AM, the National Crisis Management Center received a call about a traffic accident at the Davtashen Bridge in Yerevan, where multiple vehicles had collided.
The Davtashen Bridge has been closed in both directions, with cars scattered in different sections. More than 15 drivers, not wanting to wait for the insurance company's arrival, took matters into their own hands and removed their vehicles from the accident site, as people commonly say.
Currently, police and representatives from insurance companies are working at the scene, according to shamshyan.com. Rescuers and police have provided medical assistance to several citizens; however, those individuals declined to go to the hospital.
A photojournalist reports that the entire Davtashen Bridge resembles “Sodom and Gomorrah,” as the responsible authorities failed to treat the bridge for black ice. Only at 08:50 did they begin to spread salt and sand on the bridge.
