Russian Foreign Ministry Attempts to Withdraw Legal Claim Regarding 1921 Russian-Turkish Agreements Through Ara Abrahamyan
In November of this year, a court in Moscow began reviewing the complaint about the illegality of the Russian-Turkish agreement from March 16, 1921. The complaint was filed by Georgi Antonov, head of the Union of Armenians of Russia’s Kemerovo branch.
According to reliable sources from Lragir.am, the claim has deeply unsettled the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which has initiated the process to withdraw the lawsuit.
In their quest to achieve this goal, the Russians have contacted the Union of Armenians of Russia and its president, Ara Abrahamyan. They are exerting pressure on Georgi Antonov, demanding the withdrawal of the lawsuit.
Naturally, this anti-Armenian agenda is packaged under the guise of defending the interests of Armenia and Armenians. Ara Abrahamyan and his group, unable to achieve their goal, are trying to replace the head of the Kemerovo branch with someone who will annul the lawsuit instead of Antonov. To this end, Ara Abrahamyan has dispatched his deputy, German Ananyan, to Kemerovo, where he organized a meeting with some local Armenians around a banquet table. Following this, a message was circulated that Argishti Bulo's Simonian had been elected as the new president of the Kemerovo branch instead of Georgi Antonov.
Argishti Simonian has previously been incarcerated for robbery, and he is the right-hand man of Volosatyi, a so-called 'thief in law' in Kemerovo. For years, Simonian has been involved in embezzlement, collecting money from Armenians to allegedly build a church and school at 31 Zagorodnaya Street in Kemerovo. However, according to official data, the land plot at this address remains Simonian's personal property to this day.
Considering that the Kemerovo branch of the Union of Armenians of Russia is a separate legal entity and, according to its charter, any changes in its leadership cannot occur without the participation and voting of its council members and the branch leader, Georgi Antonov has already appealed to the regional authorities highlighting the illegalities.
Abrahamyan's actions to dismiss Antonov are nothing but gross and illegal interference, an attempt at an internal coup, to carry out orders received from the Kremlin.
The 1921 agreements were concluded at Moscow's initiative. Under these agreements, Nakhichevan was transferred to the protectorate of Baku, while the regions of Kars, Surmalu, and Mount Ararat were handed over to Turkey. The current phase of Russian-Turkish occupation of Armenia is an extensive application of that agreement as per the accords between Moscow and Ankara.
