Pashinyan's Statement on the Lachin Corridor

Pashinyan's Statement on the Lachin Corridor

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has made a statement on Twitter, reminding that the only road connecting Artsakh to Armenia, the Lachin Corridor, has been closed for eight days.

“It has been 8 days since the Lachin Corridor has been closed by Azerbaijan, and the people of Nagorno-Karabakh are stuck in the cold on the roads, families have found themselves blocked on various sides. Citizens with serious health issues are deprived of medication and healthcare services,” Pashinyan wrote.

It is worth noting that Azerbaijani 'environmentalists' closed the road since December 12. Initially, they claimed that the exploitation of mines located in the area under the responsibility of Russian peacekeepers was “illegal” and that their corresponding “specialists” should be allowed to visit the exploitation sites and conduct ongoing monitoring. However, they now demand the establishment of an Azerbaijani checkpoint in the Lachin Corridor.
