227 Arrested in France After World Cup Final
Following the World Cup final, police in France have arrested 227 individuals amid unrest, with 47 of those arrests taking place in Paris. This information comes from the French Ministry of Interior, as reported by the newspaper 'Figaro.'
Prior to the decisive match, law enforcement and fans began gathering in the central streets of Paris, particularly on the Champs-Élysées. Traffic was closed both there and near the Arc de Triomphe. After the French team's loss, fans threw firecrackers at the police. In response, the police used tear gas to disperse the crowd.
Arrests were also made in Lyon, Nice, and Bordeaux.
It is worth noting that yesterday the football World Cup concluded in Qatar, with the Argentina national team becoming champions for the third time. In the final match, the Argentinians defeated the French team. The game ended in a draw (2:2) after regulation time, and during an additional 30 minutes, the score was 3:3. The outcome was decided through a penalty shootout.
