Lawyer Erik Aleksanyan Released from Custody

Lawyer Erik Aleksanyan has been released from custody. This was reported by his defender, Alexander Kochubaev.

The Yerevan Court of General Jurisdiction, chaired by Judge Arshak Matevosyan, had previously approved the arrest of Aleksanyan at a hearing on October 19, responding to a motion from the National Security Service (NSS) investigator. The NSS had submitted a request to extend the detention period of Erik Aleksanyan; however, Judge Matevosyan rejected the NSS investigator's request, resulting in the lawyer's release from the NSS isolator two months after his detention.
