Citizens Lost in Fog on Road to Armavir: Emergency Situations Ministry Warns

On December 17 at 10:00 PM, the Crisis Management National Center received a call reporting that citizens had lost their way while driving on the road from the village of Nor Amanos in the Aragatsotn region to the Armavir region due to fog, necessitating rescue assistance.

An operational group from the regional rescue department of the Emergency Situations Ministry and one fire and rescue team were dispatched to the scene. The rescuers discovered a Mercedes vehicle near the village of Nor Amanos and escorted the driver (M. K., born in 1964) and the passenger (A. H., born in 1965) to Armavir city.

It is also noted that the Ministry of Emergency Situations informs that there are closed roads in the territory of Armenia. In the Aragatsotn region, the roads from the 'Amberd' high mountain meteorological station to Amberd Fortress and to Kari Lake are closed.

Fog persists on the roads in the Armavir and Ararat regions, in the Ashtarak region of the Aragatsotn region, and on the Lanjik-Mastara road.

According to information from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the Crisis Management Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation in North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Lars road is open for all types of vehicles. Drivers are advised to travel exclusively with winter tires.
