VIDEO: Stores in Artsakh are Half-Empty, Shortage of Potatoes and Cabbage

The closure of the only road connecting Artsakh to Armenia has resulted in a food shortage in the region. Some fruit and vegetable stores have already shut down, raising concerns among citizens.

“The store has run out of cabbage, carrots, potatoes, onions, and beets. Due to the Azerbaijanis closing the road, the vehicle has remained in Lisagor,” said Genadi Mikaelyan, an employee of one of the stores, in an interview with Artsakh Public Television.

Store employees assure that there are no price hikes, yet some citizens insist that inflation is evident. “Yesterday, potatoes were being sold in a car parked in the yard for 400 to 500 drams, while before this situation, the price was 300 to 350 drams,” they noted.
